Alcudia quickly became one of my favorite spots on Mallorca. The beach here is absolutely beautiful – soft, white sand and crystal-clear water. It’s perfect for a relaxing swim or even trying out some water sports. I loved the calm atmosphere that really helped me unwind. After a day at the beach, strolling through the charming streets of the town was the perfect way to explore and enjoy the local vibe.
Another highlight of Alcudia is its proximity to Formentor – one of Mallorca’s most stunning natural spots. The views of the mountains and the Mediterranean are incredible, and if you have the time, it’s a must-visit!
For food, I found a great little spot by the beach called Natur Poke. If you love poke bowls like I do, this place is a dream. They offer fresh, healthy bowls with lots of veggies – the perfect light meal for a sunny day at the beach.
Renting a Car in Mallorca
Since my hotel was in Palma de Mallorca, I wanted to explore more of the island and decided to rent a car. After looking at a few rental options, we went with EuropCar, and I’m so glad we did. We rented the car directly at the airport when we arrived, and the deposit was only €100, which was much lower than what I had seen with other companies. The car we got was in great shape, and it was super easy to pick up.
A lot of locals also recommended Sixt, so if you know you’ll need a car, it’s best to book ahead, as the availability can be limited if you wait until the day of your arrival.
Parking in Mallorca
When it comes to parking, Mallorca has plenty of options, but it’s good to know how to read the signs. Here’s a quick guide:
Yellow Line: No parking allowed unless there’s a special sign. Both continuous and broken yellow lines mean you can’t park.
Blue Line: Paid parking zones. Be sure to pay at the parking meter or through an app. You can usually park for up to 2 hours.
White Line: Free parking – definitely a win!
Green Line: Reserved for residents.
I recommend using underground parking whenever possible. It’s quicker, safer, and keeps your car cool, especially in the heat.
Also, always remember not to leave valuables in your car. It’s best to carry them with you to avoid any issues.
Alcudia is the perfect spot to relax, explore, and enjoy the beauty of Mallorca. The beach, the town, and the nearby sights are all worth checking out. Renting a car makes it easy to discover more of the island, and with a little parking know-how, you can enjoy your trip without any hassle. If you’re visiting Mallorca, Alcudia should definitely be on your list!
